Director* Clinical Operations Capabilities

As a Director* Clinical Operations Capabilities, you will support and oversee the long-term roadmap and development of capabilities in clinical operations as well as the implementation of systems related to clinical trials. You will drive oversight across set-up and execution of key initiatives including but not limited to system changes. You will also ensure a transparent and streamlined infrastructure for resource assignments and decision-making within Global Clinical Development Operations (CDO). You will ensure that we have the appropriate infrastructure in place in terms of processes, systems, and capabilities to enable Clinical Trial Teams to optimally plan and execute clinical trials.
Your main responsibilities are:
  • Steer the design and implementation of concepts, systems, processes and tools for digital transformation of areas that are critical for Clinical Development Operations, including but not limited to eTMF, CTMS, RBM, decentralized trials, hybrid trials, etc.
  • Leads innovation development groups to conduct insights as well as design outputs to their work, stimulating innovative ideas and testing of new and digital  approaches, ie Agile, IDA, design thinking among others, exploring state of the art learning and capability building trends in the industry and beyond.
  • Set up and maintain a transparent and streamlined infrastructure for resource assignments and decision-making; Ensure that BioNTech has the appropriate infrastructure in place in terms of processes, systems and capabilities to enable Clinical Trial Teams to optimally plan and execute clinical trials.
  • Design and implement the capability building agenda through the coordination of learning, upskilling and re-skilling plans that are integrated cross-functionally.
  • Establish and optimize internal functional relationships/dependencies in an effort to increase internal executional efficiency.

What you have to offer.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business, science, or healthcare related field or equivalent. Master’s degree highly preferred.
  • Many years of pharmaceutical experience with proven track record of successful implementation of complex solutions and systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with project management and application of operational excellence concepts.
