Scientist* Early-Stage Formulation Process Development

At BioNTech you make a decisive contribution to the conduct of our preclinical studies - because you ensure the provision of RNA nanoparticles. Your main responsibilities are:
  • Responsible for development of GMP compatible manufacturing process for lipid nanoparticles
  • Identification of the critical quality attributes (including process parameters) for the long term stability of the RNA nanoparticles
  • Characterization and stability assessment of the colloidal nanoformulations as a function of ageing
  • Data processing, evaluation, documentation of experiments, and writing of reports
  • Responsibility for instruments, laboratory management, and supervision of Student Assistants and Research Associate

What you have to offer.

  • Doctoral degree in pharmaceutical or other natural sciences (e.g. chemistry, biology) as well as a sound knowledge on factors affecting the stability of RNA nanoparticles for various storage conditions such as refrigerated or frozen conditions 
  • Fundamental understanding on the manufacturing process of RNA nanoparticles with sound knowledge on the inclusion of auxillary components that can influence the stability and ADME, mechanistic understanding on material properties is a plus
  • Profound knowledge on physicochemical characterization of lipid and polymer based nanoparticle preparations (e.g. gel electrophoresis, SEC, DLS, zeta potential, fluorescence spectroscopy), insights on extended characterization techniques such as CD, SAXS, AF4, Cryo-TEM is a plus 
  • Conscientious and careful working methods as well as organizational skills, paired with good English skills (written and spoken)
