The Manager of IT Infrastructure and Operations is responsible for the day-to-day delivery of technology services through on premise and cloud environments. This position reports to the Director of IT and Facilities in Cambridge, MA, and also works closely IT department based in Mainz Germany, as well as the local helpdesk MSP and BioInformatics teams.  Up to 80% of their time will be spent on hands-on technology work, initially focused on overseeing end user support and supporting integration activities resulting from the recent merger between BioNTech US (formerly Neon Therapeutics) and BioNTech DE.   Additional work will include managing and maintaining infrastructure, applications, end user support, and on going upgrade/improvement activities.

The successful candidate must be comfortable with working directly with non-technical staff and problem solving with staff of varied technical knowledge.  The role will also support application selection, deployment and integration activities, as well as on-going application management.

What you have to offer.

  • Minimum 5 years of appropriate experience supporting IT service delivery, preferably with a medium size organization. Good understanding of server & desktop hardware/operating systems, networks, firewalls and load balancers, telecoms, etc.
  • Good understanding of application configuration and lifecycle; computer systems validation experience preferred. Experience of working with 3rd party service providers
  • Familiar with computer systems validation in regulated environments and ITIL Knowledge
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server
  • Active Directory (Design, Security and Administration)
  • Knowledge of Messaging platforms (MS Outlook, Teams, Skype, etc)
  • Knowledge of Networking technologies and concepts
  • Good understanding of IT security and Data protection
  • Good understanding of Cloud and mobile technology
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to communicate across a broad spectrum of users - flexibility and a true team player
