Manager, US Internal Communications*

The Manager of US Internal Communications is responsible for creating and implementing internal communications content and actively engaging audiences across the BioNTech US locations with the goal of keeping employees informed and engaged.  This role is responsible for establishing an internal communications strategy to support the US organization, in coordination with the global internal communications team based in Germany. The role will ensure global and local organizational initiatives, projects, events, and critical information are successfully communicated to employees and stakeholders.

Supporting BioNTech’s team in the US by:
   
  • Help create internal communications that fuel employee engagement, influence connectivity and culture, and positively impact US engagement.
  • Ensure communication messaging and materials are high quality, accurate, appropriate and integrated with firm priorities and themes.
  • Plan, edit, and write content for a variety of internal communications mediums, such as an intranet, US townhall meetings, Teams channels, posters, regular email bulletins, etc.
  • Assure global communications are received by US employees and partner with the global internal communications team to assure US communication needs are met.
  • Manage content for the US site pages on the company intranet, ensuring that content is up-to-date, engaging, and informative. Content will be compiled through ongoing interactions across various teams in the US and input from global internal communications team
  • Adhere to the company’s style guide, ensuring that we produce a high-quality and error-free copy.
  • Ensure internal communications messages are consistent across all mediums and for different departments of the US organization.
  • Respond to feedback from staff and adjust communications content accordingly.
  • Draft messages or scripts from senior executives for presentations to employees in written or spoken form.

What you have to offer.


Minimum requirements; BA in journalism, communications, public relations, or marketing. 
 3 plus years’ experience in a communications team, especially internal communication, for a large organization, is most sought after.
 
  • Writing Skills: You need excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills as well as the journalistic ability to source stories from employees
  • Presentation skills: You need strong speaking skills. Internal communications managers need sensitivity to an organization’s goals and values and the ability to relay them to employees
  • Interpersonal skills: You need good interpersonal and relationship-building skills to work across multiple departments of the organization.
  • Creative skills: You need the creative ability to devise communication strategies
  • Digital skills: Familiarity with information technology, especially digital and video means of communication, is essential.

Preferred requirements; Experience in the life science industry.
