Manager* Clinical Trial Supply Management Logistics

At BioNTech, you will set up, manage and optimize complex supply chain and study drug logistics in global clinical trials up to Phase III to ensure efficient and timely end-to-end supply in an innovative international environment in compliance with regulatory requirements. Thereby you make an indispensable contribution to the planning and operational interface between Contract Manufacturing Organizations, Courier Service Providers, Global Customs, CMC and Quality Assurance. Your main responsibilities are:
  • Management of global storage, and distribution (Depots and Hubs) of study drugs including comparative agents (Standard of Care (SoC) products, and/or protocol driven baseline therapies but also other required study materials (e.g., Disposables)
  • Management of Return of study drugs
  • Developing and maintaining strategic alliances with contract partners for transportation brokerage, storage and distribution including maintenance of knowledge about the logistics services and processes offered by the vendor
  • Implement state of the art Supply Chain Management processes ensuring the Cold Chain is maintained (e.g., Real Time Temperature Monitoring) including immediate Temperature Excursion Handling
  • Manage import/export services, custom requirements, classification/safety of goods for transports
  • Implement, manage, and optimize new required logistics processes (e.g., Direct to Patient Supply)
  • Support in setting up Quality Agreements to ensure the conduction of transport of clinical trial material in accordance with material and GDP requirements
  • Manage Deviations, Changes, CAPAs
  • Coaching and Training of internal and external stakeholders

What you have to offer.

  • Supply Chain Management, Natural sciences, or technical background (university degree or successfully completed apprenticeship with experience in Logistics  related profession or similar) with several years of professional experience
  • First Project Management experience in pharmaceutical or biotech industry e.g., at a Sponsor, CMO, CRO or Courier Service Provider with focus on logistic processes
  • Demonstrated knowledge of warehousing, distribution, and logistics (including cold chain distribution)
  • Basic knowledge in customs regulations and impact of product safety on supply chain activities
  • Independent, well structured and proactive way of working, exceptional communication as well as organizational skills with a fluency in English, spoken and written
