IT Security Operations Center Manager*

At BioNTech we're planning to build a global Security Operations Center and therefore we're looking for a Security Operations Manager who will be responsible for building the SOC team. You will support the Security Operations Lead in ensuring that the SOC department's projects and processes are in line with the defined strategies and that all stakeholders involved always have the required information about the current security situation. Your main responsibilities are:
  • Design, build and lead the BioNTech Security Operations Center and provide first line supervision to the team
  • Decisively responsible for the development of a long-term Security Operations Center strategy
  • Oversee incident identification, assessment, quantification, reporting, communication, mitigation and monitoring
  • Review and Define KPIs to report and measure the performance of the Security Operations Center and Analysts
  • Lead coordination with specialist departments (e.g. OT and Pentesting) and service owners for security monitoring
  • Develop and manage SOC controls, processes, procedures and policies, and review them to ensure the efficiency
  • Responsible for enhancing the SOC Capabilities, such as, Security Automation, Threat Hunting & Intelligence, etc.

What you have to offer.

  • Completed university degree (or similar) in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field background
  • 7 years of professional work experience in Cyber Security with experience in managing a Security Operations Center
  • Experience in investigating security incidents with SIEMs, developing use cases and implementing “threat hunting” strategies
  • In-depth knowledge of the current threat landscape and security concepts such as cyber-attacks and techniques, threat vectors, risk management, incident management, vulnerability management and more
  • Ability to translate security concerns into business context
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with experience presenting to leadership groups
  • It would be advantageous if you have CISSP, SANS GIAC or Offensive Security certifications.
  • Excellent communication skills including German and/or English language (spoken and written)
