Head Engineering*

As Head Engineering (m/w/d) you will support the requirements of production at the Marburg site and ensure that equipment, infrastructure and buildings are fully functional at all times. Farther you are in charge that regulatory GMP and SHE requirements are met and that they are further developed through efficient, effective and innovative maintenance, process engineering, technical services and solutions for future requirements.

Your main responsibilities are:
  • Head of department (Plant Engineering & Maintenance, Process Engineering, Commissioning & Qualification (C&Q), Utilities & Facilities, Automation, Engineering Deviation Management and Production System Engineering), ensuring the availability of a high-performance and competent team
  • As business partner to the Site Head and the Production Unit Head, responsible for all technical issues in the manufacturing process for pharmaceutical and biotechnological vaccines and drugs
  • Responsible for the technical availability, reliability and condition of the production facilities
  • Responsible for the use, availability, reliability and condition of the infrastructure (utilities, facility management)
  • Responsible for cost-efficient repair and maintenance in full compliance with regulatory requirements and cGMP and SHE regulations
  • Conversion of cGMP and SHE rules and regulations into site-specific solutions, standards and procedures
  • Responsible for the management and implementation of all technically relevant site investment projects according to customer needs (time, cost, functionality and quality)
  • Management of external service providers and corresponding contracts
  • Ensure general dissemination and utilization of best practices and competence in the area of responsibility at the site and with Global Engineering
  • Development and execution of appropriate asset life cycle management
  • Ensure availability of competent and capable teams and partners and develop the talent pool
  • Execution of all assigned activities in compliance with applicable GMP, labour, operational, environmental and safety instructions and guidelines
  • Documentation of activities in accordance with GMP regulations
  • Willingness to continuously improve and analyse weaknesses
  • Participation in all trainings relevant to the position, maintenance of relevant training records
  • Promote a SHE friendly environment

What you have to offer.

  • Successfully completed degree in engineering, biotechnology or equivalent
  • At least 8 years of industry experience
  • German fluent in spoken and written
  • English fluent in spoken and written
  • Work experience in a multinational, multicultural group
  • Successful project management and leadership experience in CAPEX projects desirable
  • Good project management skills, including contract management
  • Good project controlling skills
  • Good project evaluation/financial skills
  • Sound technical knowledge in chemical and/or pharmaceutical processes and equipment
  • Broad interdisciplinary knowledge
  • Above average HSE and GxP/QA knowledge
  • Experience in GMP environment is necessary
