We want to improve healthcare by making our innovations accessible worldwide. Therefore, we developed the first modular mRNA-manufacturing facilities based on a container solution called “BioNTainers”.  The aim is to build a regional manufacturing network in Africa, with Africa, for Africa. And we may extend to R&D facilities as there is no limit for our vision to serve patients worldwide.

Why we need you:
We have established an HR international project team focusing on all HR relevant topics to make our vison come true: basically, this HR team is responsible for establishing fully functional HR frameworks including the resources to be recruited and qualified in each country where we want to realize our vision. For this role, skills in cross-cultural human resource management and communication will be essential, as this role supports both the international project and local key suppliers/and or staff. The Project Lead BioNTainer HR Organization Build-up will take care of the day-to-day running of the project in a given framework starting from the evaluation of employer of record suppliers in order to establish the infrastructure of managing the employee life cycle locally. This role will assist with all HR operational needs and budgets to ensure the required sizing and capabilities for the projects.

As Project Lead BioNTainer HR Organization Build-up you are responsible for accompanying the projects during the concept and ramp-up phase as HR representative.

Your main responsibilities are:
  • As part of the global Project Team, work as the HR project manager for people related topics translating project requests into people and organizational requirements and associated work programs aligned with the project timelines
  • Track and report HR milestones, premises, and priorities of the project to report to the global Project Team and the HR International Team
  • Analyze, investigate, manage, and resolve business and people related issues with the support of the HR Team International
  • In close collaboration with the Project Coordinator and the team HR International, look for the best options to avoid and/or resolve labor conflicts in the project; ensure compliance with local legislation and regulatory requirements
  • Advise on the establishment and updating of the project’s organizational chart and job descriptions and assist with preparing the forecast of HR needs
  • Support the establishment of a local HR framework to perform HR processes such as recruitment, training & qualification, evaluation, development of staff, payroll procedure; ensure that remuneration and benefits based on the national salary structure is accurate and fair
  • Maintain knowledge of HR trends, best practices, regulatory changes.
  • Ability to switch between day-to-day hands-on operational work and big picture thought leadership / HR strategy
Depending on our activities and needs, your responsibilities may be adapted and evolve according to the specific projects.

You will not face these challenges alone; the HR Team International, and locally hired staff will provide technical support, including comprehensive guidelines and protocols.

What you have to offer.

  • MSc Degree (HRM, Business or Organisational Psychology, Organisational Development, Law).
  • Additional formal education in HR or MBA.
  • Coaching certification (desirable)
Professional experience:
  • 8-10+ years relevant experience in HR, manufacturing experience is preferred
  • Demonstrable track record in working within a similar role in a manufacturing / production environment or highly regulated landscape
  • Cross-country project management experience and being part of an HR international network and leadership team
  • Good written and verbal English proficiency (essential), German is a plus
  • Willingness to partly travel in all kinds of contexts worldwide
  • Adaptable and able to work in a multicultural team
  • Flexible and able to cope with high levels of stress
  • Project Management Skills
  • Self-driven with a solution-oriented approach and ability to train others
  • People oriented and a diplomatic approach
  • Comfortable working with complexity & ambiguity (typical of a start-up or grass roots environment)
