Director* Translational Scientist (Biomarkers)

  • As part of the Translational Sciences team, you will contribute to the clinical development of new drug products by building and executing the translational and biomarker strategy. Your main responsibilities are:
  • As Translational scientist lead in assigned programs, responsible for developing and executing program-specific precision & translational strategies from exploratory early studies to ph 2/3 studies with registration intend, in alignment with clinical development objectives.
  • Bridging preclinical experimental data to translational biomarker strategies to deeply integrate the mechanism of action in the clinical development plan (target engagement, pharmacodynamics endpoints, patient selection) and correlate with clinical outcomes.
  • Member of the program core team. Leads the biomarker sub-team and efforts for data generations, interpretation and presentation to the development teams and management to enable data-driven decision making.
  • Drives, in liaison with key stakeholders (as Diagnostics, Biolytics), and supported for operational tasks by the biomarker operations specialist, the execution of the translational and biomarker strategy in the assigned development program(s), with introduction and implementation of appropriate assays and technologies in line with high standards of experimentation.
  • Responsible for biomarker and translational contributions in the Target Product Profile, Integrated development plan and regulatory documents (IND, CTP, NDA).
  • Establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with internal and external functional experts that can contribute to the translational strategy

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • PhD in Immunology, Oncology, Genomics (or a related area)
  • Extensive experience working within translational research setting biomarker strategy
  • Strong knowledge of immuno-oncology or a related field
  • Prior experience contributing to IND / NDA filling
  • Preferably experience with companion diagnostics (CDx)
  • Preferably experience with vaccines, antivirals or immunomodulatory drug products
  • A genuine interest and understanding of the science supporting the development programs. Confident to discuss and present scientific and mechanistic aspects of drug development
  • Very good communication skills in English
