Senior Director* Pandemic Preparedness

The role is a senior role within COO resort, responsible for the central coordination of fulfillment of tasks and duties resulting from the pandemic preparedness contract, especially ensuring readiness for active supply phase
 
Your main responsibilities will be:
  • Responsible for all Pandemic Preparedness relevant projects and tasks
  • Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams, especially Regulatory, Supply Chain, Engineering & Maintenance, Commercial and Procurement to ensure operational readiness and supply
  • Coordinate directly/indirectly (e.g., via procurement, ESO) with partners (e.g., Fill &Finish, critical materials)
  • Take lead as Project Manager roll-out of pandemic plan
  • Own communication to customers (governmental officials) regarding pandemic preparedness contract
  • Set up of SOPs and integration of Pandemic Preparedness Governance concept in ongoing processes
  • Annually update preparedness plan (reporting to ZEPAI)
  • Prepare and coordinate required audits
  • Report regularly to senior management, and support the communication to authorities and external collaboration partners
  • Negotiate and design preparedness programs with other countries and regions

What you have to offer.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed, and visionary individual, ideally with the following characteristics:
  • University degree in Life Sciences or Business
  • 5+ years of project management experience, ideally in consulting, biotech or pharmaceutical company
  • Proven experience in the management of complex technical projects or collaborations in a pharmaceutical industry or an equivalent regulated environment
  • Ideally, experience in relationship management with public authorities
  • Ability to make flexible, but thorough decisions in a highly dynamic environment
  • Ability to communicate clear and target-oriented with internal stakeholders and represent BioNTech towards external control authorities and partners
  • Ability to manage cross functional coordination
  • Structured way of working and keeping oversight, ability to simplify complex topics, attention to detail, diligent
  • Fast learning and able to manage new and upcoming technicalities topics, including requirements from pharmaceutical Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
  • GMP and pharmaceutical product registration (CMC) is a plus
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • PMP certification or equivalent project management training is a plus
  • Fluent English and German language skills
