Director* Clinical Operations

As Director* Clinical Operations you will provide global oversight of all clinical trial operational aspects of one or more global or regional infectious disease programs to ensure that studies are completed in accordance with specifications for the defined program’s timelines, budgets and quality. As a part of the clinical operations management team, you support the strategic build out of the department to help BioNTech become a worldwide forerunner for clinical development.

Your main responsibilities are:
  • Operational strategy and oversight of multiple programs and project teams within BioNTech.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication and collaboration with functional area peers, as well as leaders in order to meet program objectives and support achievement of goals.
  • Drive functional excellence by implementation of innovative and best-in-class procedures related to clinical trial execution, helping to establishing global standards and best practices.
  • Act as operational interface with external partners/vendors to address issues and act as a member of the governance structure to ensure timely and efficient implementation of clinical programs/studies.
  • You take over Ressource Planning for your Project Teams, leading hiring processes, mentoring and developing the team.

What you have to offer.

  • Natural/ life sciences or medical background (university degree or experience in a medical profession such as Nurse or Medical Technical Assistant or Pharmaceutical Technical Assistant).
  • Recent, Direct experience in conducting clinical trials with Vaccines in Sub-Sahara Africa as well as globally.
  • Profound knowledge and experience in relevant legislation and international guidelines (ICH-GCP) for the performance of clinical research projects.
  • Minimum 12+ years of experience in project management, regulatory submissions and global study organizations.
  • Ready to take over responsibility and to recognize problems and provide solutions.
  • Able to motivate and lead a team.
  • Excellent organizational and communicative skills.
