As a key research and clinical development hub, BioNTech US will enable BioNTech’s growing presence in the US.


BioNTech US is seeking a highly-motivated Associate Scientist, with the goal of developing new TCR characterization to enable the development of adoptive T cell therapy products. You will work on the implementation of a robust TCR discovery and characterization pipeline. You will also help validate lead candidate TCRs to bring to the clinic. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will work closely with the departments of T cell therapy and biochemistry to develop and assess the efficacy of our T cell products.

Supporting BioNTech’s R&D team in the US by:
  • Culturing of human T cells
  • Characterization of TCRs and engineered T cell products
  • Developing and implementing new TCR safety screening and characterization assays
  • Integration of new instruments for mRNA and plasmid synthesis and T cell cytotoxicity
  • Integration of automation processes in various assays
  • Analysis of multicolor flow cytometry data
  • Tracking and compiling results in an electronic notebook
  • Assisting with the training of lab personnel
  • Presenting results to other scientific teams
 
 

What you have to offer.

Requirements:
  • BS or MS in immunology or related discipline, and 2-5 years relevant work experience
  • A strong interest in T cell biology and cancer immunotherapy
  • Primary cell culture experience
  • Demonstrated experience with flow cytometry and other immune related assays
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in a collaborative environment to meet project goals
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Enjoys solving challenging scientific questions in a fast pace environment
  • Independent, flexible, self-motivated, and the ability to work well with others
