Based in Cambridge, MA, BioNTech US serves as BioNTech’s North American headquarters and is an important part of our global effort to pioneer the development of next-generation immuno-oncology therapies. BioNTech US is a fully integrated subsidiary with a strong foundation in Europe and a focus on the development of novel neoantigen-targeted T cell therapies, complementing BioNTech’s highly innovative scientific approach and diversified pipeline of transformative cancer medicines. As a key research and clinical development hub, BioNTech US will enable BioNTech’s growing presence in the US.

The Associate Director/Director of Corporate Development & Strategy will be a key member of the global BioNTech corporate development & strategy team and will be based out of our US headquarters in Cambridge, MA.  She/he will have a high profile role and will gain first hand strategic and operating experience while helping to build a premier biotechnology company.  This high energy individual will wear many hats and will have the capacity to drive numerous complex projects forward simultaneously.

The primary responsibilities will include but not limited too:
  • Drive global corporate strategy efforts including setting franchise area strategy, identification of new growth opportunities, evaluation of build/buy/partner opportunities and other special projects as needed to advance our business.
  • Support pipeline programs through development of overall program strategy, contributing to Integrated Development Plans for programs, building and updating value creation models, conducting market analyses, performing competitive intelligence and providing analytical support for key program decisions.
  • Closely collaborate with business development, legal, commercial, and R&D teams to support programs, alliances, partnering efforts, and closing of transactions to support the overall business objectives.
  • Support portfolio prioritization efforts and align/plan resources appropriately.

What you have to offer.

  • Minimum of 8 years experience is required.
  • Scientific undergraduate training with experience in biopharma industry, life science management consulting and/or comparable experience required; Graduate degree (PhD, MD, MBA) strongly preferred.
  • Ability to drive the business forward through application of a deep understanding of the science and broad knowledge of drug development.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills with prior experience presenting to C-suite and BOD level professionals
  • Collaborative attitude with strong relationship management skills, adept at working with many different disciplines both inside and outside of the company.
