(Associate) Director* Molecular Pathology/CDx

BioNTech is seeking a (Associate) Director* Molecular Pathology/CDx to support our clinical development pipeline with analytical and diagnostic solutions. In this role you are part of the diagnostic team and will work together with cross functional teams to drive the implementation of assays from early clinical phases until marketing authorization.

Your main responsibilities are:
  • Develop and drive CDx strategies for assigned clinical programs together with our cross-functional translational teams as well as external CDx partners
  • Act as project lead for outsourced CDx development programs
  • Support the preparation of regulatory submissions relevant for CDx development
  • Statistical analysis and interpretation of biomarker data
  • Development and validation of molecular assays (e.g. ddPCR, RT-qPCR) for in-house R&D use or transfer to a regulated lab environment
  • Act as subject matter expert for CDx partner evaluation, technical diligence, and selection activities for CROs

What you have to offer.

  • Scientific background in life sciences/oncology (PhD preferred) with demonstrated experience in biomarkers, pathology and analytical method development (e.g. DNA/RNA analytics, IHC)
  • At least 5 years of working experience in a biomarker related position either in the in-vitro diagnostic industry or biotech/pharma
  • Solid knowledge of relevant statistical procedures and terminology used in the diagnostic and clinical development
  • Robust understanding of the US and EU regulatory frameworks around in-vitro diagnostics and their and implementation in clinical trials
  • Teamplayer with excellent communication and presentation skills. Fluent in written and spoken English (German is a plus)
  • Strong project management and organization skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work successfully under pressure in a fast-paced environment and with tight timelines
